CALGONIT D & S

Alkaline, powdered, agent intended for manual and machine washing of milking equipment, milk pipes, cooling pools (lactofreeze), and milk containers. Calgonit D does not contain chlorine, which can be corrosive to metals, and since alkaline agents decompose organic compounds, it is primarily intended for removing milk fats and bacteria (disinfection). This cleaning agent is considered a newer generation product, because it is based on quaternary ammonium salts and does not contain chlorine, has no unpleasant odors, and therefore does not irritate the respiratory organs and is easily washed out of the system because it does not foam. It is best used in the hygiene of lactofreezes and in heavily soiled and older milking parlors, and in systems that use water from the water supply network, which contains less scale than well water. Like all Calgonit detergents, this one does not foam, is active for 15 – 20 min. and has proven to be more effective than chlorine-based agents at lower temperatures. When washing by hand, it should be noted that the washing water must be between 30 – 40°C with a concentration of 0.5% to 1% (0.5 l – 1 l per 100 l of water) with the mandatory use of protective gloves, and when washing by machine, the water temperature at the outlet of the washing system should not be lower than 40°C. For high-quality maintenance of the hygiene of milking equipment, it is recommended to use it daily. It is suitable for use in systems that use powders and liquids, as well as for use in other food industries.
